President Rodrigo Roa Duterte inspects the operational condition and the upgraded facilities of Lal-lo Airport in the municipality of Lal-lo, Cagayan province on March 14, 2018.
The airport includes a 2.1-kilometer runway capable of handling heavier aircrafts like the Boeing 737 and the Airbus A320. It is set to receive its first commercial flight coming from Macau, China on March 23, 2018 and handle domestic flights by April this year.
Government agencies like the Bureau of Immigration (BI), Bureau of Customs (BOC), Bureau of Quarantine (BoQ), and the Aviation Security Command (AVSECOM) have allotted office spaces inside the airport.
The airport project is a joint venture between the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) and a private consortium.
