Ambassador Raul S. Hernandez is the current Philippine envoy to the Republic of Korea.
Prior to his postings abroad in the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), he worked with a non-government organization (NGO) and a trading company in Hong Kong from 1989 to 1993, and served the Diocese of Catarman in Northern Samar, Philippines from 1984 to 1987.
He also held several positions in the DFA, such as Spokesperson from July 2011 to March 2014, Executive Director at the Office of American Affairs from April to July 2011, Director at the Office of Middle Eastern and African Affairs from October 2003 to October 2004, Acting Director at the Office of European Affairs from 2001 to 2002, and Principal Assistant, then Assistant Director at the Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs from 1994 to 1995.
Ambassador Hernandez has been posted to numerous countries including Hong Kong (1995 to 1999), The Hague in the Netherlands (1999 to 2001), Vancouver in Canada (October 2004 to September 2008), and Xiamen, China (September 2008 to January 2011).
